Ealdræd and his erotic but bloodthirsty Menghis companion Eiji combat Tehlitzim murderers and rapists who want to steal the alluring oriental girl away from her beloved Effendi, as the pair travel through the female supremacist theocracy of the Gathkar Queendoms. Nowhere else in the world is there so perverse a culture as that of the Gathkarees, nor one so infantilised. As this matriarchal society rapidly crumbles around them the two travellers must defend themselves against abuse by the swaggering Ahkrani military who are about to annex enfeebled Gathkar into their empire, while the priestesses who have sown the seeds of their own destruction find that retribution overtakes them in the Temple of Ertamis.
